 Antique Brass Bed Mission style Chicago 1872 Art Beds


  "Art Beds" Quality made by Art Bedstead Co. Chicago, U.S.A. patented 1872, a year after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.
Full size or double bed, overall outside length is 82" long, the inside is 77" long and 54" wide.
The headboard is 58 1/2" high, the foot is 37 1/2" high.
The corner posts are made of 1 1/2" square solid brass tubing, the top rails are 1 1/4" brass tubing,
the lower rails are 1" square brass and the filler tubes are 3/4" square. 4 original steel and cast iron bedrail.

Art Nouveau or Victorian style brass nameplate.

There are 4 post finials and warm rich original patina brass overall.

Unfortunately this is the only caster still on the bed.

a broken casting at the headboard, it's not loose, it does not pull out.

The only split square brass tube.

broken casting on the bottom of a foot corner it is not loose but could be repaired.
